Website ranks several Oklahoma squads nationally

The state is well represented in the preseason rankings put out this week by MaxPreps.com, one of the leading authorities covering high school sports on a national level.

Jenks tops the overall list for state schools at No. 21 nationally. Tulsa Union, figured to be Jenks’ biggest rival for the 6A Division I title this fall, is No. 95 in the national poll.

Two Texas schools, Allen and Cedar Hill, are ranked Nos. 1 and 2.

In its small school rankings, Kingfisher comes in at No. 2, behind only Florida’s Trinity Christian Academy. The Yellowjackets are the favorite of many to go all the way again this season in Class 3A.

The Blanchard Lions, who Kingfisher knocked off in last year’s championship game, check in at No. 19, while 2A perennial powerhouse Davis is ranked No. 22.
